13 Things I Did While Suffering From A Migraine

Hello, kids! Today, I woke up with a vertigo migraine, which basically means extreme dizziness combined with extreme headache combined with nausea. It was fun. I decided that the best thing would be to relax today and not go anywhere since I didn't feel good. So, here are 13 things I did . . . while relaxing at home.

1. Made a loaf of beer bread for breakfast.

2. Cut Eli's hair. With my headache and his squirming, he's lucky he has any hair left.

3. Played Dora Candyland. I lost. But Eli cheats, so that's not really my fault.

4. Blogged.

5. Attempted to catch up on emails. I didn't quite make it.

6. Watched Days of Our Lives while laying on the couch like a zombie with both children jumping on me like a trampoline.

7. Washed dishes.

8. Engaged in 9 different telephone conversations while my face was covered with a cold cloth.

9. Cleaned four sex toys from my demo kit so they would be ready for my next Passion Party.

10. Bathed two wet octopuses children.

11. Overdosed on ibuprofen, which did absolutely nothing to help.

12. Indulged in molten chocolate cake, which made me feel a hell of a lot better than the ibuprofen.

13. Ended the evening laying in bed watching Pride and Prejudice for the 122nd time.

I had a migraine today too! I wound up taking Imitrex and Phenergan and comotose for about four hours. I'm just in zombie mode right now.

I can't say I feel your pain because I've only had one migraine in my life...but it was awful and memorable and I don't want another one!

I think you should be applauded for having 13 things that you did with a migraine...I think mine would have been:
1. Found a friend to donate painkillers.
2. Slept

If it will make you feel better, come by my blog and enter to win a free book from me!

Dora Candyland? Wow, I don't know that that would help a migraine any. I'm not so good with the game, it goes on FOREVER.

I just loved your list!
I can so relate as I get migrains too! I have a 4 yr old and your house sounds a lot like mine. I almost got Dora for Xmas but it was 10 dollars more than the regular candyland...she never tires of playing it...
Have a wonderful Thursday and I hope you feel better soon..
My list is up 2

I'm in a weird mood. Must be why my first thought on reading #9 was why they were dirty in the first place. What kind of demos are you giving at these parties, anyway?

My poor eldest EDogling had a migraine New Years' Eve night. At midnight, we were taking him to the after hours clinic. He's eight, fer Chrissakes! Who gets migraines at EIGHT?!

Oof! How did you do all that? You got a lot done with that headache. I'm impressed.

Hope you're feeling better.

My 13 are up.

Oh my goodness, I hope you're feeling better. I'd have been in the "find-painkillers-and-crash" school of thought had it been me. Of course, if you've got kids at home, that's not happening. But I'd imagine molten chocolate cake can never hurt, right?

Bless your heart. I get migraines, too, but usually not bad ones.

I go through bouts of migraines, though not often, thank God.

You certainly did accomplish a lot with that migraine -- you're such a good mommy!

Now, go take a nap.

P&P? The Colin Firth one I hope. I love the book, but that BBC adaptation is fab.
Happy TT and I hope you're feeling better soon.

Forgot to ask: why, pray tell, did you have to wash the sex toys? Why were they dirty? Hmm? 'fess up, Neila!

Cold compress on the back of the head, right around the top of the neck.

And I agree with Shannon's question about Dirty Toys :)

I, too, laughed out loud at Eli cheating his way to victory at board games!

Migraines suck.
The only thing that will cure them for me is taking enough tylenol pm so I sleep them off.
I can't read/write/watch tv when I have a migraine, so sleeping is the best option (dark & no smells).
Hope you're feeling better today!!!

There must be a lot of us with dirty minds because the first thing I thought of too was "why are those toys dirty?"

Even with a migrane, you're still one of the funniest people I visit. Hope you feel better soon.

I hope your migraine is better. Patrick just had his first migraine, hopefully he didn't inherit the migraines from me or my mom. He managed to get through his sleeping on the floor in the dark bathroom with a cold patch on his head. When I got home after racing from work, he was lying in the dark bathroom with his pillow, a couple of towels, and a blanket. Luckily his migraine responded to Motrin. Feel better!

My friend always had great success with the following cure for migraines: 3 tylenol + 2 ibuprophen + 1 can of regular coca-cola.

It did nothing for me because of my built up tolerance to painkillers and caffeine at the time, but it seemed to work for her very well.

Feel better!
