I love things that are multi-functional. For example, my favorite kitchen item is the spoonula. I love the spoonula – it’s a spoon and a spatula. My favorite Passion Product is Nipple Nibblers because it’s the best freaking lip gloss I’ve ever found, even though that was not its original intention. My son loves it as a lip gloss too, so I had to peel off the label to avoid funny looks.
Luckily, my daughter is following in my footsteps of finding multi-functional items. This afternoon, I was trying to have some quiet time. I had to return phone calls and was trying to find something to entertain Georgia. I had a bunch of toys in front of her when she got up and left the room. She came back moments later with a box of tampons from the bathroom. Yes. Tampons.
I reached down to take them away from her, but then noticed that she was extremely entertained just trying to unwrap them, so I let her be. I was able to get several phone calls made, watching her play quite contentedly. She would open a tampon, take it apart, and then start swinging it around by the string. It was seriously the funniest damn thing I’ve ever seen.
Even funnier was when my husband came home from work. Georgia heard her daddy come in the front door and took off to meet him. I heard him say. “Hi, Georgia! What do you have? OHMYGOD! NEILA!!!” I wish I had that on video.
I just said, “Yes, she has what you think she has.”
And here I have been spending hundreds of dollars on fancy schmancy toys, when all I really needed to do was spend $3 on a box of Tampax. At least Christmas shopping will be easy.

Too funny, my youger daughter went through a stage where she was fascinated with my panties - mostly for dress up of course. She insisted on wearing them around the house, a pair or two around her neck as necklaces, another slung over her shoulder, her arm through a leg-hole. I finally conceeded, as long as we didn't have company and she got them from the clean laundry they were fair game. Luckily she quickly outgrew that phase.
Put pantyliners on your list too. Kids love pantyliners too.
Thanks for my morning laugh.
Yes, I would pay good money to see Eric's face on YouTube as he walked in the door and saw Georgia with her new toys.
I also love it that you & Eli share a fondness for Nipple Nibbles lip gloss. That left a BIG smile on my face!
Have a great weekend,
Mo
LOL! You go girl! Tampons have been a major attraction for my cats. There were times I would find the entire box scattered around the house. To think they just had a blast all day was enough to chalk up the lost expense!
That's awesome! Some folks are really weird about that stuff and would have reprimanded and made a big deal over nothing. This way G won;t have any weird hangups over tampons and bodily functions - well no more than the rest of us anyways. :P
Oh, that is so funny. I have walked in on my son several times in my bathroom when he has gotten into the tampons and pulled them apart. He can go through a whole box easy. It's turned into a kind of expensive hobby so I had to put them where he can't get to them.
Photo's of this will make great blackmail material later in life though.
I love the reaction of men to what we have had to deal with for so long. Teach her how to make a bracelet out of a minipad, my Little girl did that once....
So funny, your husband is traumatized.
Too funny! :P
thats hilarious! when we were kids, my older sister unwrapped a whole box of condoms and filled them with water and threw them of the front porch. my mom wanted to kill her, but now 20 years or so later, she cracks up laughing about it!
for me, all mom had to do was get a box big enough for me to fit into. i would play in the box for hours. it was more fun than any toy she could give me. so every few months she would get me a new box. some times she would catch me asleep in the box after a particularly long day of fun!
Nipple nibblers? That's a new one for me! You gave me a chuckle.
Proof that dogs are like kids that never grow up. Mine cant get enough of my tampons 8-)
very funny. A better story then my nephew who likes the box as opposed to the gift. And, yep, I had to look up Nipple Nibblers.
I LIVE for spoonulas! I have at least twenty throughout my kitchen and use them for almost every meal. They are God's gift to kitchens everywhere.
