13 Things I Picked Up Off My Floor Today

1. Chalk – the kids got an easel for Christmas with a chalkboard on it, and there are little pieces of chalk EVERYWHERE!

2. A miniature disco ball – It’s Eli’s. Don’t ask.

3. A Sponge Bob Beanie Baby – This was today’s show-and-tell.

4. A Teletubbies DVD – I managed to find this under the dining room table.

5. Toner ink cartridge – Apparently the children got so bored they began dragging things out of the office.

6. Candy Corn – Wasn’t Halloween like three months ago?

7. A popsicle stick – I’m finding out that my kids don’t seem to know where the trash can is.

8. Dora backpack – And the second I touched it, I hear, “NOOOOO! That’s MY backpack! Don’t touch it!”

9. Dried macaroni and cheese – That was lunch.

10. A cat – I was really just trying to move him away from Georgia who was throwing plastic balls at him.

11. A wet diaper – My husband will happily change the diaper, but for some reason he can’t make it to the trash.

12. A sippy cup of orange juice (that had leaked)

13. An iTunes gift card – for some reasons my kids love anything that looks like a credit card. That’s bad, right?

We had the chalk problem last Christmas. Thank goodness it slowly but surely disappeared! It was a gift from my sister. Paybacks are hell, ya know!!!

Great list. Happy TT.

Hopefully your kids will develop an aversion to credit cards.

Good idea for a 13. Maybe I'll do one called 13 things I shoved under my couch this week. :o)

Our daughter has 4 children under 12 and some days the house looks like a tornado debris field. There is no telling what she finds everytime she cleans house!
I love the grand kids if for nothing more than the entertainment value they provide and the fodder for T13 lists.

Have a great day.

LOL!! Just so you know.. it doesn't get better as they get older: (Mine are 15 and almost 13)

My dining room floor - 2 mechanical pencils sans lead, old homework papers, one shoe, one eraser, and one calculator they couldn't find.
The hallway - where the coat rack is - 3 jackets, 1 pair of snowpants, 1 lunchbox, 1 saxophone scale study book.
The top of the stairs - right outside their bedrooms - two mismatched dirty socks, one clog, two legos.
The list goes on...
Best of luck to you!!

PS I'll be back! I love your blog!!

You have such an interesting life to me. I chuckle every time I visit. You know that you are going to laugh when they are grown, married and with kids of their own. Oh yes you will. Bwahahahaha. Have a great TT Neila. :)

The disco ball made me giggle.

At least "cat yak" wasn't on the list.
I'll trade you a couple piles of dried yak for the iTunes card.

See when I read #1 I thought, Oh, either she's a teacher or her husband is.

I pick up chalk on a regular basis from an absent-minded professor who keeps putting it in his pockets!!!

Happy TT!

Regarding #13, it's only going to be bad when Eli discovers Home Depot and Georgia discovers shopping anywhere.
