13 Children’s Songs I Love

It seems like children’s music is 90 percent of what I listen to these days. And let me tell you, I’m familiar with the good, the bad and the ugly. This week, I decided to focus on the good. I could easily have listed my 13 favorite Wiggles song or my 13 favorite Laurie Berkner songs, but I tried to mix it up a little. I linked if I could find the songs.

1. The Wiggles – Shake Your Sillies Out
2. Laurie Berkner – Victor Vito
3. Barney – If All The Raindrops
4. Parachute Express – Butterfly
5. Greg and Steve – The Freeze Song
6. LazyTown – Bing Bang
7. The Wiggles – Georgia’s Song
8. Laurie Berkner – Bumblebee (Buzz Buzz)
9. Sesame Street – I Don’t Want To Live on the Moon (sung by Ernie)
10. Marlo Thomas – Free to be you and me (Remember this from the 70’s?!!)
11. Go Diego Go Theme Song
12. Parachute Express - Dance Puppet Dance (or if you're in Gymboree, it's Dance Gymbo Dance)
13. Michael Jackson Roberta Flack - When We Grow Up

Thanks for the music ideas. I'm always looking for some that I like as much as they do. If you ever get a chance to hear the CD's from the Music Together classes, I highly recommend those. I'm glad I found your blog, I know how lonely and crazy being a stay-at-home-mom can be! I'll be back!

I love this list. We have a 19 mos old - so your list has opened up a whole world to me. Tho - we do have the Marlo Thomas album . . .

My TT list is up as well. All about chickens this time round.

Ack - I can't believe you have a Barney song on the list!!!

But having Bing Bang here makes up for it!

Okay, actually Bing Bang and "Free to be you and me" were the only ones I knew on the list....
I wonder if Free To Be You and Me is on DVD. Remember those round-squishy head baby puppets? What a great memory!

cheers,
mo

Mo's up on me - I didn't know ANY of these songs! I told you you were a good mommy. I let my kids listen to U2, Van Halen, John Mellencamp.

My daughter loves Alice Cooper - snort!

Great list!

My toddler sings the Dribbly Dell (?) Singers song from Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends ALL THE TIME. You think he's just mumbling and then La la lala LADYBUG, Do do dodo Doodlebug. It's the cutest thing.

His favorite Wiggles song (and therefore ours) is Rock A Bye your Bear.

Man, I'm feeling old. I only knew one of the songs on your list. My kids grew up too fast.

Ack!

I guess the good news is the positive messages found in music for small children.

It's such a fun song.
