Car Tipping

I was amazed the other day to find out that two small children can come extremely close to tipping over an SUV. I had popped in the Wiggles CD, and Eli, Georgia and I were bopping along. Eli usually wants to listen to one of his CDs in the car, and the Wiggles and LazyTown are my favorites.

Anyway, when we came to a stoplight, my car was rocking like it was on hydraulics. The person in the lane next to me even glanced at me as if to say WTF? I just glanced back at him and smiled, as if to say “Sup? I know I’m cool.”

He probably couldn’t see my two children in the backseat who were rocking themselves so hard back and forth that I was momentarily terrified they would throw themselves from the vehicle. Thank God for safety restraints.

What song has this effect on my children, you may ask? Here you go:

Neila! Now I have to play that clip over and over again because my toddler can't get enough of it! He keeps shaking his little fat booty as he watches it. Sigh! ;p

What does it say about my days as a mother of young kids when I REFUSED to play kids CDs in my car? My kids grew up with U2, Van Halen, John Mellencamp, etc. Today my kids can rock out with Bon Jovi's "Dead or Alive" and Van Halen's "Runnin' with the Devil." They look like the guys in "Wayne's World" with the head bop while cruisin' along and jammin' to tunes in the car.

!!!!!!!!!!

I'm such an evil mommy...

you know if I had kids they would know all the lyrics to the CD of "Once More With Feeling"
how funny would it be for a toddler to be singing along to
"I'll Never Tell"

okay, you've convinced me: The Wiggles rock.
not as jim-jammy as Bing Bang, but I'll admit defeat in that the Wiggles have won me over...
