My 13 Favorite Yankee Candle Scents

Yes, I have an addiction. I am addicted to Yankee candles! I love the damn things, and I have them all over the house. Some of the scents smell so good they’re down right orgasmic. These are a few of my favorites!

1. Spiced Pumpkin – My absolute favorite candle. Ever!

2. Hydrangea – This really smells exactly like hydrangeas. Love it!

3. Buttercream – Dude! Wedding cake frosting!

4. Golden Spiced Pear – It smells like I’m baking a fruit pie.

5. Autumn Wreath – A great combo of fall scents.

6. Witches Brew (Patchouli) – Eric’s absolute favorite scent!

7. Farmhouse Apple – Okay, anything that smells like I’m baking a pie is a winner.

8. Gingerbread – I can’t bake gingerbread cookies, but this smells like I am.

9. Sweet Honeysuckle – A very light scent. Great for summer!

10. Sage & Citrus – This one is a very interesting combination.

11. Lilac Blossoms – Besides hydrangea, this is the only other floral scent I like.

12. Country Linen – Why does the smell of clean laundry turn me on? Is that weird?

13. Jack Frost – Great peppermint-scented candle – perfect at Christmas time.

Gosh, I don't think I even know what a hydrangea smells like! I would also think that sweet honeysuckle would be overpowering - as the flower can be. Very cool!

Happy TT!

We get their scratch and sniff catalog every month. I think Sage and Citrus is my favorite but Country Linen is a close second.

Clean Laundry smell is amazing...especially knowing that you didn't have to wash it. *LOL*

Great list. Happy TT!

They should totally pay you for this blog, because I'll be running out to buy some of these. I am always trying out different candles but the scents are never as strong as I'd hoped. I've seen the YC brand but just couldn't believe they were worth the price. Evidently so...

We have some GORGEOUS photos this week...

Mmmm...Spiced Pumpkin is one of my fav's too...as is Sage & Citrus. I also loved their Fresia scent, but I don't think they have that anymore...it was a good everyday kind of smell.

Great TT!

I'm with Sadie - Harvest is my #1 Yankee Candle favorite.
Sage & Citrus is my year-round favorite.
Funny, Jack Frost is one of my least favorites -- I prefer their piney scented ones for Christmas.

My bridal shower theme was sleepwear and smell goods. I got so many scented candles, I don't think I will ever go into another Yankee Candle shop ever again! That was almost 8 years ago.

When I lived in New England - these were all over the place. I don't see this brand so much down here in the South. But they DO make wonderful candles!

I used to burn candles all the time, and I've gotten away from it since I've had the kids. I really need to get back to that.

Great list!!

I have an Autumn Wreath candle on my kitchen table right now!!

You all should check out Village Candle!! They are SOOO much better than Yankee; cleaner burn, more fragrance and GREAT fragrances. Check out Mulled Cider, Spring Lilac (just like Grandma's house), Chocolate Chip Cookie, Water Lily. Village Candles are SOOO much less expensive, too. You get 26 oz. for $16.99 - Yankee's are 22 oz. for $25. Who wants to pay $25 for a candle??? Check them out!

Hi I also have an addiction and an idea to force Yankee Candle to re pour retired scents and it does not involve any dripping of hot wax as a torture to their executives.I know that everybody's favorite list is as varied a favorite color of crayon. I think you should take your blog and get as many requests sent to Yankee on the predication that they start to re pour 10 scents from the past and make them available through their on line web site . This would eliminate the horrible gauging going on out there in the secondary markets. I propose you accumulate 3 or four retired scents from each scent group that you would designate for a given month then publish them in your blog where all the people who write in this blog would then copy the list and bombard Yankee headquarters to re produce them or face a boycott of their current products. The company is flat right now and nothing makes a corporation listen more than possible soreness in their back pocket. Please let me know if you think this is viable ,I know it would please me to be able to purchase what I want rather than wait for one or two out of the current six or seven that might be appealing GMR Email skushdemot@ hotmail.com

okay, I used to be a Yankee Candle addict but then I found Scentsy Wickless Candles. I'm telling you that I had been a Yank-a-holic for years but now, I don't burn my thumb trying to light the wick at the bottom of the jar, have soot all over my hands, breathe in the evaporated wax, etc. Scentsy has all of these scents and more and...the scent actually fills your home and lasts long and is way cheaper. You should try one and see what you think at http://www.thesafestcandles.com/

Fortunately, soy-based scented candles can help with virtually soot-free burning with the additional benefit of cool burning and hence better fragrance release.
Paraffin wax is a derivative of kerosene so it is not surprising then that paraffin wax candles release soot into the air when burned and this soot can settle on your walls and surfaces and even be breathed in by you and everyone around you.

In contrast, soy-based wax candles are derived from all-natural soya beans that are grown all around the world.
Soy is made by hydrogenating the oil of soya beans, which are a renewable resource limited only to how many soya beans are grown.

So there you go “Soy candles are the very best”, great content and most followed blog.. keep up the good work! Well done, Lucas.
