This week’s Manic Monday word is Quake. I asked my husband what the first thing was he thought of when I said the word quake.
He said, “Quaker oats, of course.” Then he started drooling and said, “Hey, when are you going to make Oatmeal Scotchies again? You haven’t made those in a long time.”
So, here you go. My husband’s absolute favorite cookie recipe, made with Quaker Oats!
Nestle’s Famous Oatmeal Scotchies
Ingredients
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened (I use 1 cup Butter-flavored Crisco instead.)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups quick or old-fashioned Quaker oats
1 2/3 cups (11-oz. pkg.) Nestle Butterscotch Morsels
Directions
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in oats and morsels. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 7 to 8 minutes for chewy cookies or 9 to 10 minutes for crisp cookies. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

We have to make them? Can't we come over to your place for these cookies? Haven't tried them with the Butterscotch though. They sound yummy. I love oatmeal cookies. Have a great MM. :)
Those cookies are so addictive. My family loves them and I try to avoid for obvious poundage reasons.
That's hubby's favorite cookie! :)
Perfect post. I'll be over when you get 'em ready.
Happy Monday.
Now if you had just ended this post with, "and I just mailed a batch to Mo" then you could have been Post Of The Week!
;)
Those sound yummy!
