Reasons To Celebrate

Lots of reasons to celebrate today, and even though I am exhausted, I am exuberant enough to raise a glass for the following reasons:

#1 I am a rock star!
Last night, I had my biggest selling Passion Party so far. I sold $1400 worth of merchandise last night. Since I make 40 percent, that means I made almost $600 last night! Woo hoo! I couldn’t make that kind of money if I were hooking downtown! Dude! I sold 10 Gigis!! Husbands around the metro are singing my praises!

#2 Rock Chalk Jayhawk
It was a close one, folks, but the Hawks did it. Kansas pulled it out against Southern Illinois, 61-58, in a freaking nail-biter to make it to the Elite Eight. I could live without the high blood pressure, but what a great game. I’m a KU grad, in case you all didn’t know, and we haven’t seen a championship since 88. Come on, Bill Self, we’re ready!

#3 Weekly Went continues
Fox has officially picked up Prison Break for a third season! My weekly Went fix shall continue its run. Speaking of Went, he is currently in Korea shooting ads for Bean Pole Jeans. Some of the photos were released today. Does anyone want to see my new screensaver? Oh yeah, baby. Here’s a reason to celebrate!

*sigh* It was a good day.

New Gap Ad

Has anyone seen the newest Gap ad campaign?

Or as I like to call it, the "Wentworth Miller is trying to kill me by posing for sexy pictures" ad campaign.

Seriously, Went. I can't take much more of this!

Home Remedy

He’s back, ladies!! Prison Break is back, and so is my boyfriend Wentworth Miller. What a perfect way to pull me out of my funk when I’m not feeling well. He’s so much better than herbal tea.

*sigh*

Anyway, here’s a story. I was out for coffee with Aaron the other night, and he was telling me about this beautiful man who always comes to Caribou when he’s working. I think Aaron actually used the word “dreamy.” Anyway, he said, “He kind of looks like that one guy on that one show about prison.” Oh, my ears perked up then.

“Prison Break?!!” I asked.

“Yeah! That guy! He looks like that guy you always post a picture of on your blog.”

After I stopped breathing for a moment, I think I screamed, “There is a guy who comes to Caribou who looks like Wentworth Miller?!! Are you freaking kidding me?!!!”

Aaron said, “He really does look like him. The only difference is that he has a British accent.”

Now, I really stopped breathing. Is this a joke? There is actually a guy who apparently lives in this city who looks like Wentworth Miller AND has a British accent. I asked Aaron to get his address for me so I could stalk him. Aaron just rolled his eyes (similar to the eyeroll of my husband – what is it with these guys?) Oh well, the kids and I will now be staking out Caribou. I’ll let you know if I come across the Phantom British Went.

It’s Always Something . . .

In the words of Rosanne Rosannadanna.

After the migraine attack of 07 (that’s what I’m calling last week), the stomach flu is now making its rounds in our household. I actually had one day where I felt good. Then Eric told me yesterday he heard there was a bug going around. I blame him and his evil powers of suggestion because by last night I was tossing my cookies.

That was a serious WTF moment. Can’t I be well for one freaking day? Come on!!! I feel better now, but all I have had to eat is one piece of toast. Nothing like massive stomach flu to help you lose weight. Now if I could just exercise, I would be in business. Too bad I don’t live close enough to go to Crazymumma’s gym. After reading her post, I am seriously considering the pros of a personal trainer. But with my luck, my trainer would look like Arvid from Head of the Class,

and not like Wentworth Miller.

*sigh*

Anyway, I am seriously concerned now about the children. Although Eli is as extroverted as ever and Georgia is running around screaming in all her naked glory, I have had no less than four people tell me today, “Well, since you have been sick, it will probably go around your whole house.” Quit jinxing it, you twisted f*cks! You people are supposed to be my friends.

Of course these are the same friends that kept calling me today when they knew I was trying to nap. I had the afternoon with Georgia napping and Eli at preschool to rest. After I lied down, the phone rang (are you ready) eight freaking times!!!

I don’t want to kill people. I really don’t. But eight damn times!! Are you f*cking kidding me?! So, if any of you are wondering why I haven’t left a comment on your blog, it’s because I’m waiting for Homicidal Mama to take a backseat to Normal Mama. Hopefully, that will happen tomorrow.

In the meantime, enjoy this Baby Blues comic that seems very approprié.

Frustrations (aka Borders is the devil)

This morning, I made the very bad decision to do a little shopping for myself. You all know my obsession with Prison Break. I desperately want the Season 1 DVD, but with two children and this being Christmas season, I just can’t bring myself to shell out $40 for something I don’t need. I know no one got me Prison Break for Christmas because yesterday my husband came to me with a coupon from Borders good for 40% off boxed sets of DVDs!! 40%!!! That’s all I needed. I may not be able to spend $40 on myself, but I can spend $20-something.

I looked online last night to make sure they had Prison Break in stock at the Borders near me. It said they did. I saw they had the regular price listed at $47.99. I did the math in my head. (Okay, I really used a calculator, but work with me.) With the coupon, that would be $28.79. Still under the $30 mark.

So, I drug Eli out of bed this morning. Georgia had risen at 5:3o, so she was already up. Eli was not pleased that he had to get up to look for a Christmas gift for mommy, but I promised him a coffee drink at the Border’s Café. For him, that means hot chocolate. We rushed to Borders and got there six minutes after they opened. We ran in and searched for the Prison Break DVD.

When I saw a big blank space on the shelf in the P’s, I knew I was in trouble. I had the Border’s guy look for me just in case I missed it, and he had another woman look for him (because it showed in the freaking system that they had one somewhere). Grrrr!! They couldn’t find it either, so the guy proceeded to call all of the other Borders in the city.

He finally found a Borders clear across town that had one Prison Break DVD left. However, because of the coupon, they couldn’t hold any boxed sets. What did this mean? This meant the Borders employees were shouting “Good Luck!” as the kids and I dashed out the door. On to the next Borders.

Two interstates and several minutes later, we got there and rushed inside. Again. This time, I found it!!! My joy didn’t last very long because I soon saw the price. The “sale” price was $49.99. The actual price was $59.99!! I went up to the information desk and asked if the 40% was good on the sale price or the regular price. Well of course, it’s off the regular price. Mother f*ck! That made it $36, which was above my price limit, and the exact same freaking price I could get it on Amazon anyway, which I told the guy.

These employees weren’t nearly as nice. He started giving me a big speech about the cost on overhead, yada, yada, yada. What the f*ck ever! I just ran my ass all over town with two small children. And at least with Amazon, I get points back because I have an Amazon credit card.

I was so upset. And for the record, when I checked Borders.com after I got home, it did say $59.99, which means the f*ckers raised their price for the sale!!! Borders is EVIL! I must be PMSing.

Anyway, when I grudgingly put the DVD back on the shelf, my sweet little boy said, “I thought we were buying you that for a Christmas present, mama.” I said, “Oh honey, mommy doesn’t need it. It’s too expensive.” His response was, “That’s okay, mama. You can get it anyway.” I gave him a kiss and told him I didn’t need it that badly. He said, “Well, then we’ll go look for it someplace else where it’s not spensive!” My sweet boy! He is going to grow up to be such a wonderful man!! I bought him his hot chocolate, and myself an Irish Cream white chocolate mocha (not bad), and we went home.

I think I’m done braving the stores this holiday season. My birthday is right around the corner. (February 22 for anyone who wants to write it on their calendars), and Prison Break is high on my list of birthday wishes!!

Now, with all that talk of Prison Break, I feel the urge to post a photo of Wentworth Miller, which I shamelessly stole from Wet for Went. I love that damn site, even though my husband teases me mercilessly!

Prison Break - The Killing Box

Okay, who saw Prison Break last night?

Dude! I totally did. not. see. that. coming! Kellerman is now my new best friend. I think I may even be able to get over the fact that he tortured Sara. Although I can't imagine she's going to be very pleased when Michael and Lincoln show up with the man who just tried to drown her in a bathtub.

Anyway, in case you missed it, this is how last night's episode ended for their fall finale. Major spoilers if you haven't seen it yet.

No new eps until January 22. That's two freaking months! What am I going to do?!! This may actually be my last chance of the year to post a shameless sexy pic of Wentworth Miller!

Prison Break recap

Prison Break is pissing me off. I don't know that I'm going to start doing a weekly recap, but I have to get this off my chest.

First of all, is Sara a freaking idiot?! Oh gee, I think I will walk away from the one person who can help me whom I know I can trust. Yeah, that was a real smart idea. You have got to be kidding me. Where the hell did she think she was going? Does she have a plan? And let's be honest, ladies - would any woman in her right mind walk away from a man this beautiful? I think not.

Now Kellerman has Sara, and I have some thoughts on this. First of all, I think his days are numbered. He doesn't seem to be a real asset to the agency or whoever the hell it is he's working for, and other than chasing Sara, he doesn't have much of a storyline. Who thinks she will kill him? I do! I do!

I also have a hard time believing that Kellerman really wants to kill her. Wasn't it about two weeks ago that he seemed to get very upset when he found out they were going to get rid of her. That gave me the idea that he may have developed some sort of feelings for her.

Where is Michael off to now? I'm sure he will get his hands on another car somewhere, although I don't look for him to reunite with Linc and LJ before the fall finale. Does anyone know how many months we have to wait for new episodes after November?

And what about Linc and Michael's dad just showing up? Can we trust him? I am getting weary of who we can trust on the show. And I'm surprised nobody died tonight considering the body count seems to be awfully high. But I could seriously do without T-bag. And Bellick for that matter.

Sucre needs to get a better storyline. I really like him when he is interacting with the other guys, but I find his whole side story with Maricruz lame. I think it's because we only saw her a couple of times last year. I'm not really emotionally involved. Is anyone else feeling this?

What are everyone else's thoughts?
